Like animals in any other desert, the animals in the cold desert need specific adaptations to survive in the harsh conditions of the cold deserts like Antarctic and Gobi. Some types of deer live in the these kinds of desert, only in the winter though. After staying in the desert for winter the deer travel back for summer. When the deer travel to the cold desert they grow a new coat, almost twice the size of their summer coat. Many small mammals such as kangaroo rat and pocket mouse dig burrows to keep safe from the many harsh winters that they suffer through in there short lives. Gazelles, jack rabbits, gerbils, wolves these are oly a few of many types of animals that wake early in the morning and go to sleep early at night to escape harsh wether of the desert.
